This review is based on our personal experience with various domain registration & web hosting companies. We will happy to include your review based on your experience

• Network Solutions (Netsol)  - is the oldest domain name registrar (based in USA) . They have a well designed web based user interface for managing your account and all replies to customer support  are answered promptly. They prefer  payment by credit card for retail accounts . Their resellers accept payment in Indian Rupees and offer substantially lower rates. Their reseller charges for domain name registration are lower than those for renewal. However, some of  their resellers (at least in India) give extremely poor service. 

• Netsol Reseller 1 initially offered  web hosting & domain name registration at a reasonable price x.  When the domain name was due for renewal , the price quoted for the same package for  7x, knowing  that we had spent a lot on promoting the website. This was unfair, since prices quoted by all other companies offering a similar configuration had remained nearly constant over a period of 1 year.

• Netsol Reseller 2  offered web hosting , domain name registration at a price 2x. They register your domain name in their wholesale account (you effectively have no control over your account) . Though Network Solutions customer support claims that transfer from wholesale account to retail account is free,  this  reseller  refused to do the same , despite repeated requests. Though we had made payment for 350MB bandwidth, the website was not accessible to visitors as data transfer exceeded 150 MB. Their customer support did not seem to know the difference between hits, page views and visitors and we did not receive a reply for most of our emails.
• Directi - is a comparatively new domain name registrar based in India. Their rates are competitive and they have recently improved their web based interface for managing domain names.
• It is not advisable to host your website with companies offering Search Engine Optimization ( SEO ) services. Unless you are also using these expensive SEO services, you will find that your website will not be regularly  accessible to search engine spiders. So  your website may get a lot of free traffic from search engines one month and zero traffic from search engines the next month

It is advisable to evaluate all offers before you finalizing a domain name registrar/ web hosting company. Based on our experience we feel smaller companies offer better service.   If  you have any query , feedback or suggestion, kindly let us know by email
